    Hi! I read you via RSS, so didn’t see the cool layout ’til I clicked thru to read the back part of a post.

    I was a graphic designer in the 80s and 90s, and so recognized ATF right away. I was hooked on Fontographer from Altsys — was totally jazzed when they turned it into a full-blow illustrattion app.

    I was also pinning hopes on OpenDoc — worked at a major newspaper where we had dreams of ditching proprietary systems for a roll-your-own publishing system of our own design. Oh, well, maybe in another life….

    Found your entry on “Lua and unique strings” interesting and kept wandering through… you have a nice site. The horizontal scroll is a nice change and the warm colors, dead-simple chioces makes for focus and simple ragged-edged graphics reinforces an appreciation for natural minimalism I find in your verbiage, too.

    Like you have written, I also needed to put aside the blog-thang for a time, but I am heating up again with pent-up demand and look forward to revitalized presence.

    I’ll check in periodically.

    As a little kibble, smaller boxes of text on the front page would force a scroll-wheel or cursor click to your window to automagically default ones’ moves in the horizontal. Minor suggestion on a good site.

    The thing that I found most upsetting is that you worked on projects and the work wasn’t used. This is upsetting because I think you’re the most creative, excellent, of programmers, way ahead of your time. So, your work should have brought Apple to new levels of innovation. That you worked so hard and each time the work was discarded, is so distressing to hear. Of course, your decision was right. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what you create independently. I know it will be a great contribution to the Apple community. Heck, in a couple of years, Apple will probably offer to buy you out.
